While I’m still trying to catch up with my TBR, there are some books I’m looking forward to reading this year. With one exception: Seven Mercies. I’ve already read that one but I’m still excited for the release. This duology is so good, I need physical copies. And I want to make sure I have a matching set. So once this is out, I’m going on a quest to buy a matching set.

I finished The Thirteenth Hour less than a week ago and I can’t wait for the second book. Trudie says she’s working hard on it and aims to release it this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed but if I’ve to wait longer, I’ll happily do so. The Thirteenth Hour is an excellent self-published gaslamp fantasy.

Another Mennik Thorn story by Patrick Samphire
Another series I fell in love with was the Mennik Thorn series by Patrick Samphire. Shadow of a Dead God and Nectar for the God have been released so far and the next book is coming up but Patrick is working on a shorter story now, possibly a novella. But you never know with stories. They sometimes take a writer hostage and become something entirely different. If you haven’t checked out Shadow of a Dead God yet, I highly recommend it.
